Christmas tree card

Today's card features the Clear Multi Step Pine Tree from Kitchen Sink Stamps. I've been contemplating using this beautiful stamp set as we near the holiday season.  I love putting up my Christmas tree as early as I can as it puts me in the mood of shopping and gift giving for our family and friends.  There's nothing more appealing than a beautifully decorated Christmas tree!  The spirit of Christmas never fails to warm the hearts of our family as we gather to enjoy the season of love and giving. And even though this pine tree is not decorated, it's majestic beauty is evident in the multi step colors used to create it.  I hope you enjoy it.

Turkey Trot

Today's post is inspired by my love for Thanksgiving and eating turkey.  I have a confession to share.  I bought a frozen turkey a couple of weeks ago and talked my husband into cooking it on his Green Egg (a ceramic smoker/bbq shaped like an egg and green in color).  My kids teased me about rushing the "season" but I just couldn't wait any longer and it didn't disappoint me! It was yummy!  So today's card was stamped with Kitchen Sink's multi clear stamp set, Turkey Trot.  I tried several different colors and I think it could still use some working on but I was fairly satisfied with it.  My Dad and brother used to hunt turkeys when I was a kid growing up in Iowa and I just couldn't seem to recreate that memory of those big birds they brought home! I remember my Dad getting his turkey caller out in late October every year so he could practice calling those big guys. I think it must have taken a lot of patience and time to lure them close enough to bag one, an experience I never shared with them because they left when it was still dark outside in the early morning hours and it was during cold weather. (Cold weather isn't my cup of tea!) Anyway, I hope you enjoy my card! I'm dedicating it to my Brother!  Love you, Bro!
