Daisy Birthday Card

This week I tried to create a perky Birthday card for a former student who lost her Mother to cancer earlier this month. It's been a difficult time for her and her sisters as they lost their father a few years back. So, I used the Kitchen Sink Clear Multi Step stamp set Daisy to create a pretty cluster of flowers. I used the purple gingham checked designer series stack and Highland Heather card stock from Stampin' Up to set it off as her favorite color is purple. The beautiful sentiment is from the same stamp set. The inside says, "Flowers of true friendship never fade", which was perfect! I hope you like it!

Son Boot Birthday Card

Today as I was looking through my collection of Kitchen Sink Multi Step Clear stamp sets I saw this Cowboy boot stamp and it reminded me of our son's boots he wears around when he isn't working.  They are very "lived in" as they have probably seen many miles while hunting deer & hogs or whatever, as well as fooling around and hanging out with friends and family.  It's hard to tell how old they are and I'm sure they have never seen a coat of polish so you can imagine how worn and comfy they are.  He would never dream of parting with them as long as the sole and heels are still in tact! LOL! And, they are as much a part of him as is the old ball caps he chooses to wear. This young man has a birthday just around the corner so I decided to see if I could create a card for his special occasion!  I hope you like it! For it I used the Kitchen Sink Multi Step Clear stamp set Cowboy Boots and for the sentiments I used Whole Family Clear stamp set and Words 4 Celebration Clear stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

Recipe for this card include:

Color Recipe for the Boots:

Layer 1  - Stampin' Up Sahara Sand
Layer 2 - Stampin' Up Crumb Cake
Layer 3 - Stampin' Up Soft Suede
Layer 4 - Stampin' Up Early Expresso

The gold star is from Stampin' Up All Is Bright
Paper Clips collection

Satin Ribbon 3/8 inch Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler

Sentiment Stampin' Up Soft Suede

Paper used:
Stampin' Up Wood Textures Designer Paper Stack
Stampin' Up Sahara Sand Corrugated Paper
 and Cherry Cobbler card stock

I fussy cut the boots and the 2 1/2" Cherry Cobbler & 3" corrugated paper circles are glued together then mounted with dimensionals

Congrats Cards

This week my post consists of 2 cards I made for my Grandsons. My oldest is a senior and played his last high school basketball game last night so I put his name (Austin) on the card and used the Kitchen Sink Clear Graduation clear stamp set for the sentiment. Two years of middle school and four years of high school basketball is quite an accomplishment, learning to satisfy different coaches and play with new team members every year. The second card is a Congratulations card for my Grandson who is a Freshman this year.  He set a goal of being in the top 10 academic recognized students in his class of 525 at the beginning of the school year.  Just last week he was notified he accomplished his goal so I am very proud of him, also. I used the Kitchen Sink Clear Graduation stamp set for the sentiment and the Kitchen Sink Swirly Hearts and Stars clear stamp set to complete the card. I think they both turned out nice so I hope you like them.

Recipe for these cards include:

Sentiment - Versafine Black Onyx

Paper used:
Stampin' Up Basic Black
and Stampin' Up
  Whisper White Card Stock
Stampin' Up Real Red Glitter Paper

Iris

This week's card features the Kitchen Sink Multi Step Clear Stamp set Iris and the sentiment is from Kitchen Sink Multi Step Clear Stamp set Get Well Teddy.  I love how the Iris turned out as it reminded me of the Iris that bloomed every year in our yard in Iowa as a child.  It was one of the flowers my Mother allowed me to cut and bring inside to put in a water glass (we didn't have a vase) so I would cut several and place them on the kitchen table.  They would last a long time and there was always plenty more to cut when these wilted. You can get very creative with this stamp set and make all colors of this beautiful flower. I hope you enjoy the card....

Recipe for this card include:

Color Recipe for the Iris:

Layer 1  - Stampin' Up Highland Heather
Layer 2 - Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grape
Layer 3 - Stampin' Up Perfect Plum

Layer 2 - Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow
